The list of top scores for each type of Solitaire game can be displayed by selecting Score History from the Window menu. The number of top scores Klondike remembers can be adjusted in the Preferences dialog from 10 to 250. For more details, see the Help page for Play.
If you check the Casino scoring box in the Preferences dialog, the game is scored according to the common wagering scheme: You "pay" $52 to begin play, and you "win" various amounts according to the game you are playing. Klondike maintains separate score history for regular scoring and Casino scoring versions of each game.
Regular scoring is more like a video game, including a penalty for slow play.
Note: figures for Canfield and Racing Demons are in brackets [].
Maximum available: 740 [755] points.
Klondike permits you to make some moves which are not allowed according to most rule books, but you pay a penalty for these moves as follows:
In addition, a WINNING BONUS is calculated as follows:
The game is won when all cards are face up in the tableau and foundations, with none remaining in the deck.
Since the maximum end of game score is 740 [755] points (assuming you took no time to win the game!), the largest conceivable bonus is 7400 [7550] points. Total scores of over 6000 can actually be achieved.
As you deal each game, you are ‘charged’ $52, which appears as a negative score. Each card moved to the Foundations earns $5. If you win the game, moving all 52 cards to the Foundations earns $260, for a net winning score of $208.
In addition, a WINNING BONUS is calculated as follows:
The game is won when all cards have been moved from the tableau to the deck.
Since the maximum end of game score is 3325 points (assuming you took no time to win the game!), the largest conceivable bonus is 33250 points. Total scores of over 6000 can actually be achieved.
As you deal each game, you are ‘charged’ $52, which appears as a negative score. You earn it back by making ‘par’, which means removing all but 4 cards from the Tableau. If you beat ‘par’ (i.e., fewer than 4 cards remain in the tableau), you earn an additional $52.
In addition, a WINNING BONUS is calculated as follows:
The game is won when no lower-valued cards are covered by a higher-value card, or all cards have been moved to the foundations.
As you deal each game, you are ‘charged’ $52, which appears as a negative score. Each card moved to the Foundations earns $5. If you win the game, moving all 52 cards to the Foundations earns $260, for a net winning score of $208.
